Returning with a New Machine

I started playing Kerbal Space Program with v0.18.1 back in 2015. After three years, I started up this blog, which went pretty consistently up until about two years ago when, well, life got in the way. In the meantime, KSP2 released to Early Access and, while my ASUS FX504 with only 4GB of VRAM was not going to be able to run it, I paid for the game anyway knowing that, eventually, I would have a better machine capable of running the game.
That time is now.
I have a new laptop from Costco. A Raider GE68 HX. i9-13950HX Intel Core. 32GB RAM. 16” Display. 1TB Drive. And, most importantly, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4860 8GB GDDR6.
I had looked into maybe getting 10GB of video RAM but that would cost me an additional grand for what was already the most I had ever spent on a computer.
I have loaded up KSP2 and it appears to work smoothly without me having to monkey with the settings, as I had to do when I first started. Yes, my first machine could barely handle the prerelease version of KSP1.
So, with that I return to the Blogosphere. I am going to be tracking an “Exploration” playthrough, gathering science, growing my technology, and exploring this new, expanding, but still familiar universe.
